André Pessoa de Farias

André is an interaction & visual designer and art director specialising in information architecture, brand development and educational projects.

A product designer, business facilitator and enthusiast problem solver, he works as an independent consultant for Banking institutions, Publishing and Communication groups, Government institutions and the Pharmaceutical industry.

André can point to more than 20 years of international experience, and his work has been recognised by design industry organisations such as ADG, ADCE and SND-E, in addition to public institutions, including the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s in Graphic Design, Industrial Design & Multimedia from ENSAV la Cambre in Brussels, he currently manages Compound, a design studio located in Barcelona, which specialises in solving complex communication problems, with a particular focus on educational, social and environmental issues.

Prior to founding his own studio, André worked as an art director at Cases i Associats Barcelona, one of the most important newspaper design consultancies worldwide. He took part in the creation of its digital department, developing projects for some of the world's most famous news brands.

He has worked as a creative director for the cooperative BAOBAB - Communication and Education for Sustainability, and was is an active member of the Catalan Society for Environmental Education.

André has also been a member of the jury for the Laus Awards ADG-FAD and the Degree courses of ENSAV la Cambre in Brussels.
